New Year Resolutions – That your dog and cat want you to make
by Lynda Green
As the New Year approaches, we all contemplate making those New Year resolutions. It may be to lose weight, eat healthy, become organized, etc.

When you look at your faithful companion on New Year’s Eve, consider making some of the following resolutions. Not only will they be rewarding for both you and your pet, they will be the easiest resolutions that you will ever make and keep.

1. I will faithfully take my dog for a walk at least once a day. (Please see your physician before beginning any exercise plan).
2. I will give my dog or cat attention and play with them daily.
3. I will take my dog to visit a leash-free park at least once a week.
4. I will give my dog or cat healthy treats daily.
5. I will keep my dog or cat brushed and groomed.
6. I will regularly buy my dog or cat new toys at Leone’s or Petco.
7. I will make sure that my dog or cat sees their veterinarian regularly.
8. I will take a well-deserved vacation and not feel guilty about leaving my pets by hiring a reputable pet sitter.
9. I will hug and tell my dog or cat that I love them each day.
10. I will keep at least eight of the above resolutions.
