Reiki is a safe, effective and ancient method of healing. It is especially helpful for animals as they are so able to absorb and use the Reiki energy.
The word Reiki is a combination or two Japanese words (Rei and Ki). REI can be defined as the higher intelligence that guides the creation and functioning of all that is. KI is the non-physical energy that moves all living things. It is this energy that causes our hearts to beat and flowers to grow. It flows in everything that is alive including animals. This life force flows from the practitioner, into the animal’s body through pathways called Chakras and meridians. Reiki works with the same system used in acupuncture.
When an animal (or human) has negative experiences including being mistreated or sick, their life force energy is disrupted. This then effects the animal at a cellular level and this creates “blocks” in the energy system. What we may see behaviorally is an animal that is very fearful or even traumatized (frozen in fear). We also see aggression and some animals get physically sick at a young age, as a result of these blocks in the energy body. For example, a dog who has been physically abused may develop colitis or have symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Reiki dissolves or removes these blocks allowing the animal’s body to return to balance and good health.
Reiki is easy to learn, and offers a lifetime of benefit for you and your family-animals and humans. Very often, Reiki alone can put an animal back in harmony and balance. Additionally, Reiki is a great complement to medical treatments in reducing side effects of chemotherapy and other drugs. Reiki is also gently calming and helpful to families and their pet during and before the pet’s transition.
Reiki is healing to animals on spiritual, emotional, physical and mental levels. Very often the healing effects of Reiki are immediate.
